Are you passionate about the quality of public services in Wales? Would you like to support the Ombudsman in delivering her vision to put things right for users of public services and to drive improvement in those services?
We are seeking to appoint independent member(s) to join our Audit & Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) or Advisory Panel (the Panel).
These are key appointments to underpin our excellent governance. You must be committed to providing quality public services and be able to support and challenge the Ombudsman.
You should be able to evidence your ability to influence and engage with organisations and individuals at a senior level to promote good governance and positive change.
You should have good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interpret complex data. You should have a good understanding of Welsh public services and it would also be desirable for you to have some understanding of the role of the Ombudsman.
We are especially interested in hearing from you if you have expertise/experience in any of the following fields:
- Strategic Leadership & Governance
- IT, Digital & Cyber Security
- Finance, audit or risk management
- Equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Ombudsman sector
The ARAC and the Panel each meet four times a year at our offices in Pencoed, Bridgend. Members are paid a daily rate of £300 plus reasonable travel expenses, with additional remuneration for training attended outside the scheduled meeting dates.
