Mr G complained about the terminology used by Newport City Council in its complaint response letter.
The Ombudsman found that the Council used terminology that a member of the public may not understand or be familiar with. This caused additional frustration and confusion to Mr G. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to write to Mr G explaining the terminology within one week.
