Subject

Services for older people

Case Reference Number

Outcome

Not Upheld

Miss K complained about Pembrokeshire County Council (“the Council”) and whether a safeguarding strategy meeting (“the Strategy Meeting”) adequately considered both the concerns that had been raised about the care provided to her grandmother, Mrs L, and the adequacy of the Council’s monitoring of the nursing home (“the Nursing Home”).
The Ombudsman’s investigation found that the Strategy Meeting followed appropriate national guidelines and adequately considered the concerns raised about the care provided to Mrs L and the Council’s monitoring of the Nursing Home.
Although the allegation considered by the Strategy Meeting was unsubstantiated, some shortcomings were identified, and an appropriate action plan was put in place to address the concerns highlighted.
The Ombudsman did not uphold the complaint.
