Mrs A complained that Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board had not addressed her concerns sufficiently. She said she had previously undergone cardiac investigations and was told the results were normal. However, at her pre-operative assessment for knee surgery she was informed she needed further cardiac tests, and she was concerned these would cause additional delays to her surgery and could have been completed sooner.
The Ombudsman decided that whilst the Health Board had sent her a complaint response it had not addressed her concerns sufficiently. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement that within 2 months it would send her a further response addressing her outstanding concerns.
