Mr X complained that the Council’s Highways Department failed to respond to his email correspondence. He also complained that following his formal complaint to the Council regarding that matter, he had not received a complaint response.
Following discussions with the Ombudsman, the Council agreed that it would provide a written complaint response to Mr X, and make an ex-gratia payment of £125 in recognition of the time and trouble taken by him in pursuing the complaint.
The Council agreed to do so within 7 days of the date of the decision.
