Mrs C complained that bathroom facilities were notworking when Swansea Council let her a property in Sheltered Housing.
The Ombudsman decided that the Council had acted promptly to repair issues with the thermostat and the shower, but had not adequately recognised the inconvenience and distress that was caused to Mrs C, who was unable to use the shower for several days. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to offer Mrs C, within one month, £250 in recognition of the inconvenience and distress.
