Ms A complained that Carmarthenshire County Council had failed to rectify the issues she was experiencing with water entering her property and had failed to log the works recommended in a surveyors report.
The Ombudsman decided that there had been a significant delay by the Council to log the works required. This caused delays and frustration for Ms A. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Ms A and provide her with £100 for the failure to log the work. The Council also agreed, by the end of January, to provide Ms A with a stage two complaint response which includes a schedule of works to be undertaken.
