Mr B complained that Isle of Anglesey County Council (“the Council”) failed to discharge its responsibilities for road safety prior to its approval of a planning application. Specifically, that the Council did not ensure the highway complied with national standards on splay visibility.
The Ombudsman found no evidence of any failings in the Council’s handling of the planning application. However, the Ombudsman noted Mr B had sent three emails to the Council in September 2023, but he had not received a response.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Mr B and to provide him with a response to his email correspondence, within 30 working days.
