Mr T complained that Carmarthenshire County Council had not responded to his complaint and were causing deliberate delays in dealing with a planning issue.
The Ombudsman found that the Council had failed to provide Mr T with a complaint response within a reasonable timeframe. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Mr T for the delay and provide an explanation as to why this happened. The Council also agreed to provide the final complaint response within one week and offer Mr T £50 financial redress for the time and trouble taken to approach the Ombudsman.
