Miss F complained that Carmarthenshire County Council had failed to acknowledge and respond to a complaint she submitted in May.

The Ombudsman found that the Council had received Miss F’s complaint but due to an administrative oversight it had failed to provide an acknowledgement or response. The Ombudsman said that this caused delays and frustration for Miss F. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Miss F and provide a complaint response within 30 working days.
