Mr A complained that Carmarthenshire County Council declined to investigate his complaint related to safeguarding concerns.
The Ombudsman decided that the Council had appropriately referred the issues to the Safeguarding Team, but it had not responded to Mr A’s complaint about the lack of appropriate action taken in response to his concerns, and delays that had occurred, over the past year. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Mr A, acknowledge his complaint, offer him the opportunity to discuss his concerns and provide a response in line with the Council’s Corporate Complaints Policy, within 20 working days.
