Case Reference Number

202309122

Outcome

Discontinued

The Ombudsman received a complaint that a Former Member (“the Former Member”) of Prestatyn Town Council (“the Council”) had breached the Code of Conduct.  It was alleged that the Former Member acted in an appropriate manner towards the Complainant.

The Ombudsman started an investigation to consider paragraphs 4(a) (equality of opportunity), 4(b) (respect and consideration), 4(c) (harassment) and 6(1)(a) (disrepute) of the Code of Conduct.   Information was obtained from the Council.  The Complainant also provided evidence.

Taking into account the Complainant’s wishes and information obtained during the investigation, under Section 70 of the Local Government Act 2000, the Ombudsman decided that it was not in the public interest to continue the investigation.  Therefore, the investigation was discontinued.
