Miss C complained that Swansea Bay University Health Board failed to provide a response to the complaint she made to it in April 2023, and had only provided 1 update to her in that time.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board’s response had not been issued and it had failed to properly update Miss C. The Ombudsman said this caused frustration to Miss C. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to apologise and explain the reasons for the delay, offer Miss C a £250 redress payment and to issue its complaint response within 8 weeks.
