Mrs E complained that Swansea Bay University Health Board failed to provide a response to her concerns about the care and treatment provided following her smear test which showed high grade changes.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board failed to provide regular and meaningful updates to Mrs E. She said that this caused frustration and uncertainty to Mrs E. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Boards agreement to write to Mrs E with an apology and explanation for the failure and to issue a complaint response within 5 weeks.
