Miss X complained that the Health Board had failed to respond to her complaint about her late father’s care and treatment within its stipulated 6 month timeframe.
The Ombudsman decided that the Health Board should provide Miss X with a written response (within 4 weeks) to address her complaint which should include an apology for the delay.
The Ombudsman considered this to be an appropriate resolution to the complaint instead of conducting an investigation.
