Hywel Dda University Health Board
Mr A complained that Hywel Dda University Health Board failed to provide a response to a complaint made about treatment provided at Prince Philip Hospital.
The Ombudsman found that Mr A originally submitted a complaint to Swansea Bay University Health Board about treatment provided at Morriston Hospital and Prince Philip Hospital. Swansea Bay UHB provided a response about treatment provided at Morriston Hospital and forwarded Mr A’s complaint about Prince Philip Hospital to Hywel Dda UHB to investigate and respond. At the time Mr A submitted his complaint to the Ombudsman, 9 months had passed without a response being provided.
The Ombudsman contacted Hywel Dda UHB, and it agreed to provide a Mr A with a full written response, an apology and an offer of a redress payment of £250 in recognition of the poor complaint handling, within 10 working days.
