Miss S complained that Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board failed to respond to her emails concerning the conduct of a medical professional.
The Ombudsman found there had been a delay with the Health Board addressing the issues she raised due to the closure of a hospital putting extreme pressures on its staff. This caused additional frustration and uncertainty for Miss S. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint
without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to, within 4 weeks, write to Miss S to apologise for the delay and address the concerns she raised.
