Ms B complained about the care and treatment provided to her son, Mr C, by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (“the Health Board”) during and following his admission to Glan Clwyd Hospital in July 2021. The investigation considered whether the Health Board indirectly discriminated against Mr C by not considering his ethnic background, whether Mr C’s discharge from hospital and the arrangements made for his discharge, including communication with Ms B as his carer, were reasonable, whether the follow up by the Home Treatment Team /Care Co-ordinator was appropriate and the Health Board’s failure to carry out an Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment.
The Ombudsman found that the care and treatment provided to Mr C during and following his admission to Hospital in July 2021 was clinically appropriate and Ms B’s complaint was not upheld.
