Case Against

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board

Subject

Health

Case Reference Number

202105739

Outcome

Upheld in whole or in part

Mr A complained that he was not provided with appropriate pain medication for his long-term arm injury while in prison (where medical treatment is provided by the Health Board). The investigation found that the Prison GP’s rationale for not providing the same medication that Mr A had been prescribed whilst in the community, both in relation to the dangers to Mr A himself, and in the wider context of the prison population, was appropriate and the complaint was therefore not upheld.
