Mr C complained that Neath Port Talbot Council (‘the Council’) had not properly considered the impact on local residents when it approved an application for planning permission and had failed to respond to representations made by Mr C’s elected representative.
The Ombudsman decided that following an initial response to the elected representative, the Council had not provided the updates that it said it would provide. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to provide a response to the concerns raised by Mr C’s elected representative within 2 weeks.
