Mr X complained that Bridgend County Borough Council had failed to respond to his complaint submitted to it in October 2024 regarding an administration error that occurred which resulted in him not being appointed as a school governor contrary to previous correspondence he had received.
The Ombudsman concluded that the Council had failed to respond to your complaint in line with its internal complaint process. The Ombudsman said this caused uncertainty, frustration, and inconvenience to Mr X. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to issue Mr X with a complaint response within 2 weeks. The response should also include an apology and an explanation for the lack of updates and delay.
