Mr X complained about the decision of the School Appeal Panel. Specifically he cited, in his complaint, information that the Panel had not considered in reaching its decision, nor had it sought additional clarification from him. The Ombudsman noted that there was information, directly relevant to the case, which Mr X had not provided to the Panel and therefore it had not had the opportunity to consider it in reaching its determination. The Ombudsman therefore approached the Council about this.
As a result, the Council agreed to arrange to re-hear the relevant part of the appeal, with any additional information that Mr X provided.
