Mrs X complained about her husband’s hospital discharge in April 2022; she said that he was unwell with COVID-19, which she then contracted.
The assessment found that, although the Health Board had responded to the complaint, it had not fully addressed the issues raised around the discharge.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to complete a rapid review of the discharge and offer a meeting to the complainant within 2 weeks. It would also complete a review into where the complainant’s husband had contracted COVID-19 and confirm the outcome of that review to the complainant within 6 weeks.
