Ms N complained that Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board had failed to respond following an admission of a breach of duty of care in August 2024.
The Ombudsman found that, whilst the Health Board acknowledged a breach of duty of care in August 2024 and that it would be investigating whether Qualifying Liability existed, it failed to communicate further with Ms N. This caused additional uncertainty for Ms N. The Ombudsman
decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and agreed with the Health Board that it would progress this matter as priority. That it would, within 8 weeks conduct a full file review and execute a remedial plan of action.
