Ms A complained about Denbighshire County Council’s handling of her housing application and appeal, and its handling of her complaint.
The Ombudsman decided that the Council failed to respond to Ms A’s Stage 1 complaint, and that its Stage 2 complaint response failed to reasonably address the issues she had raised about her application and appeal. The Ombudsman was concerned about the accuracy of some of the information the Council had provided. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to offer Ms A an apology for the failings identified, to reconsider her complaint and provide a full response, to remedy any issues identified, and to offer Ms A the opportunity to discuss the response, within 4 weeks.
