An advocate, Mr X, complained that his client, Miss Y, had not received a response from Carmarthenshire County Council to the Social Services complaint made to it in February 2025.
The Ombudsman found that there had been a delay in issuing a Stage 2 complaint response to Miss Y, causing frustration to her. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without a formal investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise and explain the reasons for the delay and to issue the Stage 2 Social Services complaints response within 6 weeks.
