Mr X complained that Carmarthenshire County Council failed to take action against his neighbour who had damaged and removed the boundary hedging.
The Ombudsman found that the Council had failed to provide Mr X with a complaint response. She said this caused uncertainty and frustration for Mr X. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to, within 3 weeks, issue its complaint response and offer Mr X £100 redress for the delay in responding to his complaint and for his time and trouble in making a complaint to the Ombudsman.
