The Ombudsman investigates complaints from members of the public about unfair treatment or where they have received a poor service through some failure on the part of devolved public bodies in Wales. The Ombudsman also investigates complaints that a member of a local authority in Wales may have breached their council’s statutory code of conduct for members.

The Ombudsman is seeking to appoint a Head of Policy (£37,107 – £41,847)

 The successful candidate will lead on the creation and development of policy for PSOW, planning and delivering the Ombudsman’s strategies and priorities. Previous experience of promoting public policy and an understanding of current issues in public sector policy and processes is required. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for this high profile role.

This is a permanent position. The Ombudsman offers a bilingual service and applications are particularly welcomed from those who can communicate in the Welsh language.
