Communications and Social Media Officer

Remote working £25,929 – £27,516pa SUP10-12

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker, looking to utilise your experience and/or qualifications in Communications and Social Media?  We have created a new role within the office of the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales for someone to design and deliver dynamic and accessible social media content and provide external and internal communications.

This role can be delivered remotely, but rest assured, you will be supported by a great team and equipped by an organisation now experienced in both hybrid and remote working.

This role may suit a new or recent Graduate, you do not need to have received your results yet.  More important, is a solid understanding of social media platforms, potentially, with practical experience of designing and delivering corporate communication.  Even if you have only done so, as part of your course work.  You will need to be able to develop creative solutions to problems and have excellent interpersonal and IT skills.  In addition, you need to be able to travel throughout Wales from time to time.  Fluency in both spoken and written Welsh is essential.

A typical day could include preparing bilingual communications for our social media channels, creating and managing content for our website, assisting with drafting bilingual press releases and liaising with social media organisations to secure press coverage of our news stories and arranging and participating in outreach activities and attending public events to promote the functions of the Ombudsman.
